Legal Secretary

We are looking to recruit a member of staff to strengthen our legal casework team in Manchester.

On an average day the ‘legal secretary’ will typically use a computer to audio-type letters and legal documents to send to clients and government departments, including the Home Office and the Courts and Tribunal Service. The legal secretary will also book interpreters and arrange some appointments, photocopy bundles and documents, and general filing. The work is interesting and important with strict typing deadlines.

The legal secretary assists a team of 10 immigration caseworkers and will work as part of a team that includes support, finance, and reception staff.

The closing date for this post is Monday 11th September 2017 at 12 noon.

GMIAU relies upon qualified and experienced interpreters to provide a high quality service to clients.

Interpreters are expected to attend GMIAU training and to comply with GMIAU policies. Interpreters are not employed by GMIAU and are expected to make their own arrangements for paying tax and National Insurance.
