Last month one of our solicitors – Nadia Hussain – was invited to speak at the Inspirational Women of the Law event at Newcastle Law School. The day celebrated the achievements of iconic and influential women who have a strong connection to the law, including legal practitioners, judges and campaigners. Many of the speakers, like Nadia, use the law for social justice purposes with work that focuses especially on human rights.

Nadia is one of the Legal Education Foundation’s Justice First Fellows and spoke alongside other women in law including  Brenda Campbell QC, Jennifer Gibson who works at Reprieve, Dami Makinder from Just for Kids Law and the Let Us Learn campaign, Emma Norton at Liberty, and Professor Rosemary Auchmuty.

One of the Law School’s undergraduate students, Namwila Mulwanda, has written a blog post reflecting on the event, which you can access by clicking here.
