Help Greater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit (GMIAU) overcome immigration injustice by becoming a Trustee/Director.
We are the leading immigration legal advice centre in the North West and our advice and representation changes lives.
Do you want to help people find their place and become part of the community?
Do you believe in changing the status quo and working to change immigration perceptions?
Do you feel that everyone deserves justice and hope?
Then we would love to hear from you.
Our mission is to provide high-quality legal representation, support and hope to people experiencing immigration injustice. We are the leading immigration advice service in the North West and have a team of 41 paid staff and 10 volunteers. We support around 6000 people each year, with 1000 cases at any one time.
We are recruiting new Trustees/Directors to our Board. We want to hear from people who are passionate about our work and our community to help lead GMIAU to protect the rights of those subject to immigration controls.
We are open to all applications and types of experience, particularly those with skills and experience in Finance, Human Resources and Fundraising.
We want our board members to come with an appreciation of the needs of our clients and their wider communities and particularly welcome those with lived experience of the UK immigration system including as a refugee or someone claiming asylum.
