GMIAU is conducting pre-litigation research into the Home Office delays experienced by unaccompanied children seeking asylum.
We’re asking professionals who work in our sector to help us by completing a survey about what these children are experiencing, in order to get a fuller sense of what is happening around the UK. We are running two surveys for professionals working with unaccompanied children: one for legal representatives, and one for social workers/local authorities.
We’d be grateful if you could take the time to fill in a survey, and share with your colleagues and contacts.
We are particularly interested in:
- the rights of young people who are now 18 or over and were children when they claimed asylum;
- claims which are on hold due to a pending prosecution; and
- the failure to include children in the new streamlined asylum process.
This work has been made possible through the support of the Strategic Legal Fund.
The surveys should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.
The deadline is 17.00 on Friday 17 March 2023.
