Thank you to everyone who supported the fundraising appeal to raise vital funds for GMIAU’s destitution project (ASHA).

ASHA (Asylum Support Housing Advice) is a very busy service which helps people who are seeking asylum or who have been refused and are facing destitution and homelessness and sees over 1000 different people a year. ASHA nearly shut in 2015 before becoming a part of GMIAU and we are working hard to raise funds to keep the service going. We asked for help from you to raise £2,000 by Christmas and are so pleased that the appeal was successful, raising almost £3,000 (including gift aid) by the time the appeal closed.

A big thank you again to everyone who donated and shared the appeal.

GMIAU relies on donations from the public and we always need your support. If you were not able to donate at the time of the ASHA appeal but would like to now, please follow this link or contact maria@asha.gmiau.org for more information on how to become a regular donor. With your support we can continue to help change the lives of people seeking asylum, refugees, children, vulnerable adults and divided families.
