This is an important new role – it’s about how we use our voice effectively to make change, and about how we connect and work with people who need our support.
The aim of this post is:
- To strengthen and develop our connections with communities, digital and in-person
- To create real structural change and authentically tell the story of how immigration control affects people we work and live alongside in the North West of England
- To maximise the impact of our legal expertise by disseminating high quality legal information
- To ensure people approaching GMIAU for help feel heard, and are provided with practical support
- To ensure our communications work – how we speak about issues, the methods we use to communicate, and the informative materials we produce – is developed in partnership with people with lived experience of immigration control
We’re looking for someone skilled in written, verbal and digital communication, who can undertake research, provide capacity for our day-to-day communications, and collaborate with a wide range of people, including people who use GMIAU’s services.
We encourage people with lived experience of immigration or asylum to apply for this role. We are committed to supporting and developing your skills.
