Corporate & Major Gifts
Our free, independent advice changes lives.
To remain a strong and sustainable organisation we need support from Corporate organisations and Major donors. Your support and donations will help us transform lives and fight for change.
Corporate Support
GMIAU has been working with people subject to immigration control for over 35 years. As a voluntary organisation we provide free legal advice, representation, and support services to people across the North West.
Our Legal Team provides expert immigration and public law advice to people across the North West, guiding them through some of the most complex and life-changing legal processes, and playing a crucial role in preventing homelessness and destitution.
Our Destitution Team supports people who are forced into homelessness and destitution by their immigration status, supporting people who are in crisis: when someone is rough sleeping; facing eviction; fleeing abuse; or a child has been wrongly age assessed and placed in inappropriate accommodation. Several team members are qualified immigration advisers, allowing them to address both immediate emergencies and the underlying immigration issues.
Our Policy and Campaigns Team amplify the voices of people with lived experience of immigration injustice and engage with politicians and government officials. They carry out evidence based research and work with the media to show the impact of the hostile policies and laws directed at the people we support.
