Support for people experiencing domestic abuse
GMIAU has a long-standing history of supporting survivors of domestic abuse and helping them reach a place of safety and security with a resolved immigration status.
We support people who are in the UK on a spouse visa and who are experiencing domestic abuse and need help to leave their situation.
We can help you apply for:
the Migrant Victims of Domestic Abuse Concession (MDVAC), to get three months’ status with access to benefits to leave your situation
indefinite leave to remain for people who have status in the UK as a dependant and had to leave the relationship due to domestic abuse.
If you are not in the UK as a dependant but you live in the North West and you are experiencing or at risk of domestic abuse, trafficking, forced labour/exploitation or gender-based violence, please fill out our advice form and we will get back to you.
Fill out our referral form and someone will get back to you.
