The Home Office has a process for reviewing whether someone still needs refugee or humanitarian protection in the UK. If you receive a letter saying your protection status is being reviewed, it is important to understand what this means and what you can do.
We’ve published a new information sheet explaining what Safe Return Reviews are, what happens if the Home Office is considering revoking your protection status, and how to respond. It also covers the different reasons you may be able to give for why your status should not be revoked, including the risks you could face if you returned to your home country, your private and family life in the UK, and compelling reasons arising from past persecution.
Read our new information sheet to find out what Safe Return Reviews are, what to do if you receive a letter saying the Home Office is considering revoking your refugee status, what to include in your response, and how to appeal if your status is revoked.
